1.7.19. Engine overheat

If for a long time the arrow of the index of temperature of cooling liquid is in an overheat zone, it testifies to an engine overheat. In that case take the following measures.
Stop the car in a safe place.
Without switching off the engine, lift a cowl for ventilation of motor office.
And – the fan of system of cooling.
In – a radiator stopper.
With – a broad tank.

When opening a cowl be careful, as there can be an emission of boiling cooling liquid. The basic core of a cowl also can be very hot.

Be careful some hot steam which can leave from under a stopper of a broad tank.
Do not open a radiator stopper, while the engine hot.
After the temperature of cooling liquid will decrease to normal value, muffle the engine.
Check level of cooling liquid in a broad tank. If liquid in a tank is not present before opening a radiator stopper, wait, while the engine will cool down. Otherwise from a bulk mouth of a radiator there can be an emission of hot steam or boiling liquid.
Add cooling liquid in a radiator and/or a broad tank if it is necessary.

Fast filling of cold water (cooling liquid) when the engine did not cool down yet, can lead to formation of cracks in a head of cylinders and/or the block of cylinders. Therefore add water (cooling liquid) in the small portions at the working engine.

Check radiator hoses on absence of leakages of cooling liquid, and also a belt of a drive of the fan about weakening of a tension and absence of damages. In case of any malfunction in system of cooling or damage of a belt of a drive of the fan address to the official dealer of MITSUBISHI for malfunction elimination.
