2.1.4. Periodic maintenance (operations in a motor compartment on the cold engine)

Check of a condition and tension of a belt of a drive of the additional equipment
Check a belt on all length on existence of cracks, stratifying and wear.
Be convinced that at installation the label is in the area designated by a letter A.

ATTENTION
Make belt check after a pro-collar of a cranked shaft of the engine clockwise not less than one turn.

If the label does not get to the specified zone, replace a driving belt.

NOTE
To make check of a belt of a drive of the additional equipment there is no need if the natyazhitel is established.

Stock-taking of povredzheniye on high-voltage wires
Check high-voltage wires and candle tips on existence of damages, weakening of effort a podzhatiya of contacts, and also check correctness of their installation.
Check existence on contacts of high-voltage wires, spark plugs and coils of ignition of pollution etc.
If there is a pollution, make cleaning if elements are damaged, replace them.

Check of a branch pipe of supply of air
Dirt and the dust getting on the air filter, can pollute the filter and reduce engine capacity.
Check a branch pipe of supply of air on existence of cracks and damages.

Check of a hose of the oil highway to a turbonagnetatel
Leakage of oil from a hose of supply of oil to a turbonagnetatel, can lead to insufficient greasing of this knot that will lead to decrease in engine capacity.
Check a hose of supply of oil to a turbonagnetatel on existence of cracks and damages.

Hose check сопуна systems of compulsory ventilation of a case
Check a hose сопуна on existence of cracks and damages.
Clean an internal part of a hose сопуна if necessary.
Check, whether the filter of system of compulsory ventilation of a case is hammered.

Check of a ventilating hose of system of compulsory ventilation of a case
Check a hose on all length, having used, if necessary, a mirror.
Check reliability of fastening of clamps and absence of leaks in connections.
It is necessary to replace hoses immediately if there are destruction or damage signs.

Check of system of compulsory ventilation of a case (PCV)
Remove a ventilating hose from the PCV valve.
Remove the PCV valve from a cover of a head of the block of cylinders.
Establish the PCV valve and a ventilating hose.
Start the engine and let's to the engine work idling.
Arrange a finger directly over an opening of the PCV valve and check, whether the depression created in an inlet collector is felt.
Thus the plunzher in the PCV valve starts to move alternately forward-back.
If depression it is not felt, make PCV valve replacement.

PCV valve check
Insert a thin core into the PCV valve from the party specified in drawing (from a cover of a head of the block of cylinders), and move it forward – back for check of mobility of a plunzher.
If the plunzher does not move, the PCV valve is littered. It is necessary to make cleaning or valve replacement.

Replacement of spark plugs
Having removed old candles, establish on their place new and tighten the recommended moment of an inhaling.

Check of branch pipes of a radiator on existence of damages and reliability of connection
Check a hose on all length, having used, if necessary, a mirror.
Check, that hoses passed through the centers of laying.
Check reliability of fastening of clamps and absence of leaks in connections.

Check of level of cooling liquid in a broad tank
Check, that level of cooling liquid was between marks "MOVE" and «MIN» put on a broad tank, at normal working temperature of the engine.

Replacement of cooling liquid in system of cooling of a dvigaltel
Stop the engine after it completely will get warm.
Add washing additive in cooling liquid for the purpose of washing of system of cooling, and start the engine.
Weaken a drain stopper, uncover a radiator and merge cooling liquid.
Wash out cooling system, filling in pure water through a radiator mouth.
Wrap a drain stopper after completion of washing.
Merge cooling liquid from a broad tank.
Establish a broad tank.
Depending on expected service conditions define, what amount of cooling liquid with long service life, antifreeze or inhibitor of corrosion it is necessary to add for receiving the corresponding cooling liquid. The recommended antifreeze: DIA QUEEN SUPER LONG LIFE COOLANT or its analog.

ATTENTION
He apply antifreezes on the basis of alcohol (including methanol) or the various cooling liquids mixed with antifreezes on the basis of alcohols. Application of inappropriate antifreeze can lead to corrosion of the elements made of aluminum.

Fill system of cooling with the distilled water through a jellied mouth, if necessary add the corresponding amount of antifreeze with long service life.
Fill a broad tank with cooling liquid.
Establish covers of a radiator and a broad tank.
After carrying out road tests check level of cooling liquid.

ATTENTION
At removal of a cover of a radiator be careful, from (under it steam or hot liquid can escape.

Plums of cooling liquid from the block of cylinders through a drain stopper
Merge cooling liquid from the block of cylinders, having unscrewed a stopper on the block, and then having uncovered a radiator.
Merge cooling liquid from the block of cylinders, having unscrewed a drain stopper.
On all-wheel drive models make plums of cooling liquid through a tube of supply of cooling liquid to a transfer case.
Remove a broad tank and merge the remains of cooling liquid.
After end plum of cooling liquid, wash out system of cooling by water, filling in it through a radiator mouth.
Cover a carving part of a drain stopper with the recommended hermetic and wrap it, observing the recommended moment of an inhaling.
The recommended hermetic: ZM Nut Locking Part No. 4171 or its analog
Inhaling moment: 44 ±5 N · m.
Wrap a radiator cover.
Establish a broad tank.
Choose the corresponding concentration of cooling liquid in limits from 30 to 60 % depending on a temperature mode of operation. For the purpose of filling of cooling liquid use the corresponding special tool (MB991871). Solution of 50 % of the distilled water and 50 % of antifreeze (a freezing point of-31 °C) is usually used.

NOTE
The description of use of the special MB991871 tool for filling of cooling liquid is provided in the Repair manual.

The recommended antifreeze: DIA QUEEN SUPER LONG LIFE COOLANT or its analog.
Refueling volume: 7,0 l.

ATTENTION
Do not apply antifreezes on the basis of alcohol (including methanol) or various the cooling liquids mixed with antifreezes on the basis of alcohols. Application of inappropriate antifreeze can lead to corrosion of the elements made of aluminum.

Establish a radiator cover.
Start the engine and warm up it before thermostat opening.
Touch a hand a radiator hose for the purpose of check of circulation of more hotly cooling liquid.
After thermostat opening several times press a gas pedal for the purpose of short-term increase of frequency of rotation of the engine, then muffle it.
Let's to the engine cool down and add cooling liquid in a broad tank to a mark "MOVE".
If level of cooling liquid excessively went down, repeat operations since start and engine warming up.

Check of the air filter on existence of a contamination or damages
Check the air filter on existence of a contamination and damages.
Clear the postponed dust from the filter in the way specified below.
Slightly knock with the filter about workbench edge.
Blow the compressed air from within.
Clear of a dust a filter cover.
Establish the filter case.

Replacement of the air filter
In process of pollution of the air filter by a dust in use, its filtering ability considerably decreases. Make replacement of the air filter.
Unfasten a clamp of a cover of the filter.
Replace filtering element new.
Be convinced that completely closed a cover of a filtering element before a clamp zastegivaniye.

Check of level of electrolit in the storage battery
Check, whether there is an electrolit level between labels of the top and bottom level.

ATTENTION
If level of electrolit is below a label of the bottom level, the storage battery can blow up in use.
If level of electrolit is above a label of the top level, there can be a leakage of electrolit.

For check of density of electrolit use the thermometer and the areometer.
Standard value: 1,220–1,290 (20°C)].
The density of electrolit changes at temperature change therefore for reduction of values of density to a certain temperature, the formula specified below is applied. For the purpose of definition of an admissibility of this density of electrolit, use settlement size.
D20 = (t 20) x 0,0007 + Dt.
D20 – the density of electrolit specified to temperature of 20 °C.
Dt – areometer indications.
t–thermometer indications.

Replacement of the fuel filter
Remove a pillow of back sitting assembled.
Uncover the hatch.
Disconnect the socket, a hose and a tube.
Unscrew nuts and remove the module of the fuel pump.
Take out the fuel filter from the fuel pump.
Establish the new fuel filter.

ATTENTION
In order to avoid damage of the plug and ring laying, put on them unleaded gasoline directly ahead of installation.

Establish the module of the fuel pump.
Tighten fixing nuts the recommended moment of an inhaling.
The recommended moment of an inhaling: 2,5 ± 0,4 N · m.
Connect the socket, a hose and a tube.

ATTENTION
After connection of a hose of a high pressure or submitting топливопровода (4WD), slightly pull for it to be convinced of reliability of its installation. Also be convinced that there is a free wheeling about 3 mm.

Establish a hatch cover.
Establish a pillow of back sitting.

Stock-taking of leaks in system of production of the fulfilled gases and correctness of installation of its components
Be convinced that the system of production of the fulfilled gases does not contact with body elements.
Check, whether elements of system of production of the fulfilled gases by stones etc. are damaged.
Start the engine and check absence of leaks in system of production of the fulfilled gases.

Replacement of the salonny filter
Remove a perchatochny box.
Turn out two specified screws and replace the salonny filter.
Establish a perchatochny box.
