2.1.5. Operations on the heated-up engine

Oil replacement in the engine
Start the engine and let's to it get warm to working temperature (80–90 °C).
Stop the engine, uncover a maslozalivny mouth.
Unscrew a drain stopper of the pallet of a case of the engine and merge engine oil.

ATTENTION
At performance of this operation be accurate, engine oil is hotter.

Replace laying of a drain stopper on new that it was focused how it is specified in drawing, and tighten a stopper the recommended moment of an inhaling.
The recommended moment of an inhaling: 39 ± 5 N · m.
Fill in recommended amount of engine oil.

Recommended engine oil
Classification by ACEA and API: «ACEA A1, A2, A3».
Class of quality of SG or above.

Total amount (including volume of the oil filter)
4,3 l – 4G63 (N/A, 4G69 A/T).
4,6 l – 4G63 (Т/С, 4G69 M/T).
Take out щуп and check, whether there is an engine oil between «MAX» and «MIN» labels.
Establish into place a cover of a maslozalivny opening.
Start the engine and let's to it work idling some minutes.
Muffle the engine and check level of engine oil.

Replacement of the oil filter
Start the engine and let's to it get warm to working temperature (80–90 °C).
Stop the engine, uncover a maslozalivny mouth.
Unscrew a drain stopper of the pallet of a case of the engine and merge engine oil.

ATTENTION
At performance of this operation be careful, since oil is hotter.

Remove a casing of a motor compartment.
By means of the tool specified in the table, given below, remove the oil filter.
Clear the privalochny plane of the oil filter.
Put a small amount of engine oil on ring laying of the new oil filter.
Establish the new oil filter to a contact of ring laying of the privalochny plane and wrap the corresponding special tool the filter till the recommended moment of an inhaling.
Establish a new drain stopper and fill in necessary amount of engine oil.
Start the engine.
Increase frequency of rotation of the engine 2–3 times and be convinced of absence of leaks on the privalochny plane of the filter.


Check of frequency of rotation of idling of the engine

NOTE
Before carrying out check bring the car into a condition for carrying out control and diagnostic operations.

Turn the ignition key in the situation "LOCK" ("OFF").
Connect to the diagnostic MUT-II/III socket.
Connect a stroboscope.
Start the engine and let's work to it idling.
Check compliance of installation of a corner of an advancing of ignition to recommended value.
Recommended value:
– about 10 ° to VMT – 4G63 N/A, 4G69;
– about 5 ° to VMT – 4G63 T/C.
Check frequency of rotation of idling.
Recommended value: 750±100 mines-1 – 4G69 A/T, 4G63; 680±100 mines-1 – 4G69 M/T.

NOTE
Frequency of rotation of idling is regulated automatically.
If frequency of idling does not correspond to recommended value, inspect MPI system.

Turn the ignition key in the situation "LOCK" ("OFF") and disconnect MUT-II/III.

Concentration check WITH in the fulfilled gases

NOTE
Before carrying out check bring the car into a condition for carrying out control and diagnostic operations.

Turn the ignition key in the situation "LOCK" ("OFF").
Connect to the diagnostic MUT-II/III socket.
Connect a stroboscope.
Start the engine and let's work to it idling.
Check compliance of installation of a corner of an advancing of ignition to recommended value.
Recommended value:
– about 10 ° to VMT – 4G63 N/A, 4G69;
– about 5 ° to VMT – 4G63 T/C.
Establish on 2 mines frequency of rotation of the engine 2500 of mines-1.
Turn on the device for measurement WITH and SN in the fulfilled gases.
Carry out concentration measurement WITH and SN in the fulfilled gases.

Recommended values
Concentration WITH: no more than 0,5 %.
Concentration of SN: no more than 100 ppm.
If concentration differs the introduced sizes, it is necessary to check the points specified below:
– diagnostic exit;
– pressure of fuel;
– nozzles;
– coils of ignition, spark plug, high-voltage wires;
– EGR system;
– catching system паров fuels;
– compression.

NOTE
If concentration WITH and SN in the fulfilled gases above recommended values even if on all to points of check the positive result is received, make replacement of three-componental catalytic converter.

Turn the ignition key in the situation "LOCK" ("OFF"), and disconnect MUT-II/III.

Check of operability of system of a retsirkulyatsiya of the fulfilled gases (EGR)
Remove the valve of a retsirkulyatsiya of the fulfilled gases and check it on existence of jamming of a zolotnik, carbonaceous deposits, etc. In the presence of defects wash out the valve in the corresponding solvent to clear it and to provide the correct work.
Connect to the valve the vacuum pump.
Create depression of 67 kPas and be convinced of tightness of the valve.
Check, passes or not air through the air channel of EGR system.
Replace laying and tighten the recommended moment of an inhaling. The recommended moment of an inhaling: 20±2 N · m.

Check of the electromagnetic valve of EGR system
Disconnect a vacuum hose from the electromagnetic valve.
Disconnect a plait of wires.
Connect the vacuum pump to the union A of the electromagnetic valve.
Check tightness, having created depression at the tension brought directly from the storage battery to the electromagnetic valve of EGR system, and without tension giving.
To Izmert resistance between conclusions of the electromagnetic valve.
Recommended value: 29–35 Ohm (at 20 °C).
Remove the valve of a retsirkulyatsiya of the fulfilled gases and check it on existence of jamming of a zolotnik, carbonaceous deposits, etc. In the presence of defects wash out the valve in the corresponding solvent to clear it and to provide the correct work.

Check of the valve of EGR system (step-by-step electric motor; valve check on an operation sound)
Be convinced available a sound proceeding from the step-by-step electric motor which should be audible at ignition inclusion (the engine thus it is not started).
If under the stated conditions the sound of operation of the step-by-step electric motor is not audible, check conditions of a power-supply circuit of the step-by-step electric motor.

NOTE
If the power-supply circuit is serviceable, the cause of defect can be in the most step-by-step electric motor or the electronic control unit the engine.

Check of resistance of the coil
Disconnect the socket from the EGR system valve.
Measure resistance of the coil of the valve between conclusions 2 and 1 or 3 its sockets.
Nominal rate: 20–24 Ohm (at 20 °C).
Measure resistance of the coil of the valve on conclusions 5 and 6 or 4 its sockets.
Nominal rate: 20–24 Ohm (at 20 °C).
Establish the new EGR valve, having replaced laying, and tighten bolts of fastening of the sensor the recommended moment of an inhaling.
The recommended moment of an inhaling: 24 ±4 N · m.

Check of operability of the valve
Remove the EGR system valve.
Connect the special tool (a plait of test wires of MB991658) to conclusions of the socket of the valve.
Connect a conclusion 2 to the plug (+) the storage battery.

ATTENTION
Long connection of the valve to the power supply can lead to coil damage.

Connect conclusions 1 and 3 to the plug (–) the storage battery. If the step-by-step engine is serviceable, on its case there will be an easy vibration.
Connect a conclusion (+) the storage battery to a conclusion of the 5th sensor.

ATTENTION
Long connection of the valve to the power supply can lead to coil damage.

Connect conclusions 4 and 6 to the plug (–) the storage battery.
If the step-by-step engine is serviceable, on its case there will be an easy vibration.
Establish the new EGR valve, having replaced laying, and tighten bolts of fastening of the sensor the recommended moment of an inhaling.
The recommended moment of an inhaling: 24 ±3 N · m.

Stock-taking of carbonaceous deposits
Remove the EGR valve and check existence of carbonaceous deposits in gas channels of the valve of EGR system. In the presence of plentiful deposits remove them with a wire brush.

ATTENTION
Use of liquid solvents at removal of carbonaceous deposits is not allowed: solvent, getting on electric motor windings, causes an exit it out of operation.

Establish the new EGR valve, having replaced laying and tighten bolts of fastening of the sensor the recommended moment of an inhaling.
The recommended moment of an inhaling: 24 ±4 N · m.
