2.5.8. System of a retsirkulyatsiya of the fulfilled gases (EGR)


The system of a retsirkulyatsiya of the fulfilled gases (EGR) reduces emissions of oxides of nitrogen (NOx). At high temperature burning down in the chamber of combustion of a toplivovozdushny mix a large amount of oxides of nitrogen (NOx) is formed. The system of a retsirkulyatsiya of OG sends a part of the fulfilled gases from the final channel of a head of the block of cylinders through an inlet collector back to combustion chambers, reducing thereby temperature of combustion of a toplivovozdushny mix owing to what there is a decrease in concentration of oxides of nitrogen. Degree of a retsirkulyatsiya of the fulfilled gases is regulated by the valve of a retsirkulyatsiya of the fulfilled gases (EGR) not to worsen stability of operation of the engine.

Principle of action of system
The valve of a retsirkulyatsiya of OG (EGR) is closed and the retsirkulyatsiya of the fulfilled gases does not occur at one of specified below conditions: On all other modes the valve of a retsirkulyatsiya of the fulfilled gases (EGR) is open, and there is a retsirkulyatsiya of the fulfilled gases.

Check of system of a retsirkulyatsiya of the fulfilled gases (EGR)
Disconnect a vacuum hose (with a green strip) from the EGR valve and connect to it through a tee the manual vacuum pump.
Increasing turns on not heated-up and heated-up engine, check a depression condition.

Not heated-up engine (Temperature of cooling liquid of the engine no more 20°С)

The heated-up engine (Temperature of cooling liquid of the engine not less 80°С)

Disconnect a transitional tee.
Connect the manual vacuum pump to the EGR valve.
Check, whether there is an operation of the engine idling unstable and whether глохнет it if you create depression in size of 30 kPas or more.

Check of the valve of a retsirkulyatsiya of the fulfilled gases (EGR)
Remove the valve of a retsirkulyatsiya of the fulfilled EGR gases and check absence of jamming of a rod of the valve, absence of deposits etc. At detection of deviations make valve cleaning by the corresponding solvent the valve rod correctly sat down.
Connect to the valve of a retsirkulyatsiya of the fulfilled EGR gases the manual vacuum pump.
Create depression in size of 67 kPas and check, whether it remains.
Create depression and check, whether passes air through the valve of a retsirkulyatsiya of the fulfilled EGR gases.


Replace laying of the valve and tighten screws the specified moment of an inhaling.
Inhaling moment: 22 N · m.

Check of the union of a vacuum hose of EGR system
Disconnect a vacuum hose (with a white strip) from the union on the case of a butterfly valve and connect to it the manual vacuum pump.
Start the engine and check that the size of depression remains to a constant at increase in turns of the engine.

NOTE:
If the size of depression changes at increase in turns of the engine, that, possibly, there was a contamination of the union of EGR system in the case of a butterfly valve which is necessary for cleaning.

Check of the electromagnetic valve of EGR system
Disconnect vacuum hoses (with yellow, white and green strips) from the electromagnetic valve.

NOTE
At a detachment of vacuum hoses always previously put adjusting labels that at connection hoses would be established in a starting position.

Disconnect the electric socket.
Connect the manual vacuum pump to the union which the hose with a white strip was put on.
Check operation of the valve, creating depression at disconnected and connected to valve conclusions to the storage battery.


Check of the servo-driver of the EGR valve (engine 4G69)
Be convinced that the sound of operation of the servo-driver of the EGR valve (the step-by-step electric motor) is clearly audible at ignition inclusion (without engine start).
If the sound of the working servo-driver of the EGR valve is not audible, check servo-driver power-supply circuits. If the power-supply circuit is serviceable, that, possibly, the servo-driver or the electronic control unit the engine is faulty.

Check of resistance of a winding of the servo-driver
Disconnect the socket of the servo-driver of the EGR valve.
Measure resistance between a conclusion «2» and conclusions «1» or «3» sockets of the servo-driver.
Nominal resistance: 20–24 Ohm (at 20 °C).
Measure resistance between a conclusion «5» and conclusions «4» or «6» sockets of the servo-driver.
Nominal resistance: 20–24 Ohm (at 20 °C).
Replace laying and tighten bolts of fastening of the valve the nominal moment.
Inhaling moment: 24 ±3 N · m.

Check of operation of the servo-driver
Remove the EGR valve servo-driver.
Connect a plait of test wires to the EGR servo-driver socket.
Connect a wire from a positive conclusion of the power supply (tension about 6 In) to a conclusion «2» sockets of the servo-driver.
Connect a wire from a negative conclusion of the power supply tension of 6 B to conclusions «1» and «3» sockets. Thus check, whether easy vibration of the working step-by-step electric motor is felt.
Connect a wire from a positive conclusion of the power supply (tension about 6 In) to a conclusion «5» sockets of the servo-driver.
Connect a wire from a negative conclusion of the power supply tension 6 in to conclusions «4» and «6» sockets. Thus check, whether easy vibration of the working step-by-step electric motor is felt.
If as a result of these checks easy vibration of the working servo-driver is felt, it is considered serviceable.
Replace laying and tighten bolts of fastening of the valve the nominal moment.
Inhaling moment: 24 ±З N · m.



EGR valve cleaning
Remove and check the EGR valve on lack of a zalipaniye and a contamination. If necessary clear the valve by means of a metal brush.

ATTENTION
Do not use for cleaning solvent as hit on the servo-driver can lead it to emergence of malfunctions.

Replace laying and tighten bolts of fastening of the valve the nominal moment.
Inhaling moment: 24±3 N · m

Removal EGR valve installation
Uncover the air filter and an inlet air hose (4G63-7).
Remove the resonator (4G69).
Installation of details is made as it should be, the return to removal.
At installation of details pay attention to operation on installation of laying of the EGR valve.
Establish valve laying, having arranged its party with dredging, as is shown in drawing.
Establish a cover of the air filter and an inlet air hose.
Establish the resonator.
