3.4.2. Gear wheels and gear shifting lever
On primary to a shaft of a mechanical transmission are executed 5 forward and one backing. All leading gear wheels of a forward course are in continuous gearing with the corresponding conducted gear wheels. The part of gear wheels is executed for a single whole with shaft, others are established on needle bearings which provide silent rotation of gear wheels. At neutral position of the lever of gear shifting the torque from the leader to a conducted shaft is not transferred.
Gear wheels rotate freely while the lever of switching is in neutral situation. Inclusion of transfers is carried out by moving of the sliding coupling of the synchronizer therefore the gear wheel rigidly incorporates to transmission shaft. For this purpose on everyone for the corresponding gear wheels the synchronizers are established to a shaft.
That gear wheels entered into gearing with each other, the number of their turns should be balanced. It is reached by means of synchronizers which before gearing of gear wheels adjoin with each other and by a friction compare number of turns of shaft.
The number of turns of the first three transfers is less, than number of turns of the engine, number of turns of the fourth transfer (straight line) same, as at an engine shaft. At the fifth and sixth transfers the number of turns increases in comparison with number of turns of the engine. For a backing the additional gear wheel which changes the direction of rotation of a shaft serves. For prevention of possibility of casual inclusion of a reverse gear at advance on cars the switching mechanism in which the reverse gear traditionally joins with preliminary pressing the lever down is established.
