4.1.3. Check of unevenness of wear of tires

Check a condition of an external surface of tires of the car. At detection of non-uniform wear of tires, check and if it is necessary, adjust corners of installation of wheels.

Convergence (Toe-in)
By means of a special ruler, measure size of a convergence of operated wheels. A convergence = In – And
The recommended value: On the center of a protector of the tire: 1 ±2 mm a convergence Corner (on a wheel): 0 ° 03+05.
Adjust a convergence of wheels previously having removed a clamp and having unscrewed a lock-nut by rotation of screw coupling couplings of the right and left steering drafts in different directions, but on the same size.

NOTE
The convergence of wheels will aspire to negative if to rotate the left screw coupler in the direction to a forward part of the car, and the right coupler – in the direction to a back part of the car.

Establish a clamp and tighten a lock-nut the recommended moment of an inhaling. The recommended moment of an inhaling: 52 + 2 N · m.
Be convinced that the size of a convergence of wheels is in a recommended range.
By means of a rotary disk check compliance of an angle of rotation of operated wheels to recommended value.
Recommended value:
– internal wheels: 34°5 '±1°3'
– external wheels: 29°2’

Corner of convergence (Toe-out) at car turn
To check a condition of steering drafts, especially, if the car visited a road accident (or it is supposed that could visit), is urgently recommended to check a corner of convergence of wheels (Toe-out) at car turn in addition to regular check of corners of installation of wheels. Execute this check at the left and right turns.
Recommended value:
– a corner of convergence (Toe-out) at turns (for an external wheel when the internal wheel has a corner 20 °): 22°0 '±1°30'.

Disorder, кастр (longitudinal tilt angle шкворня), cross-section tilt angle шкворня
Disorder: – 0°10 '±30'
Kastr: 3°15 ’±30’
KPI: 12°25 '±1°30'

NOTE
The difference between the right and left wheel should not exceed 30’.

Longitudinal and cross-section tilt angles шкворня are established at plant and do not give in to adjustment.
For cars with aluminum disks, fixing of reflectors make for a shaft of a shaft of a drive by means of clamp МВ991004. The moment of an inhaling of the special tool should equal to the moment of an inhaling of a nut of a shaft of a drive (245 ± 29 N · м).

ATTENTION
In order to avoid damage of the stupichny bearing, do not allow impact on wheels of weight of the car at the weakened nuts of fastening of a shaft of a drive.

Convergence of back wheels (Toe-in)
The recommended value: on the center of a protector of the tire: 3 ±2 mm.
Convergence corner (on a wheel): 0°08 '±0,5'.
Be convinced that adjustment of disorder of wheels was made before adjustment of their convergence.
To adjust a convergence of back operated wheels, it is necessary to turn bolts of adjustment of a convergence (bolts of fastening of correcting levers from the interior of a body).
Left wheel: a bolt to rotate clockwise (+) – the convergence increases.
Right wheel: a bolt to rotate counter-clockwise (–) – the convergence increases.

NOTE
The scale has graduation about 2,6 mm (the convergence on one wheel is equivalent to a corner 16’)

Recommended value:–0°40 ±30’ (a difference between the right and left wheel: no more than 30’)

NOTE
Disorder is established at plant and is not subject to adjustment. For 2WD of cars with aluminum disks fix a reflector on an axis of the longitudinal lever by means of the special tool (МВ991014). Tighten the special tool the inhaling moment equal to the moment of an inhaling of an axis of the longitudinal lever 175 ±25 N · m. For 4WD of cars with aluminum disks, fixing of reflectors make for a shaft of a shaft of a drive by means of clamp МВ991004. The moment of an inhaling of the special tool should equal to the moment of an inhaling of a nut of a shaft of a drive (245 ±29 N · м).

Check люфта in bearings of forward naves
Disconnect a support of the brake mechanism of a forward wheel and, without disconnecting a brake hose, suspend a support nearby to a wheel nave.
Remove a brake disk from a nave.
Fix the indicator of hour type, as is shown in drawing. Measure axial люфт in the nave bearing, moving it forward-back.
Limiting value: 0,05 mm.
If the size axial люфта exceeds admissible value, replace a nave assembled.
