6.4.1. Technical operations on the car



Engine start at completely discharged storage battery
If at completely discharged storage battery for start of the engine connection through connecting wires of an external source of a current is used, and the car begins at once movement (without having given the discharged battery of some time for additional charge), interruptions in ignition system that will lead to a stop of the car and impossibility to continue movement can begin.
This phenomenon results from big consumption of a current by ABS system on self-diagnostics. to avoid the similar phenomenon it is necessary to give the chance for the battery to be charged at operation of the engine idling.

ATTENTION
Do not maintain the car when the anti-blocking system of brakes (ABS) is disconnected (for example, the socket of the electronic ABS control unit is disconnected), otherwise the behavior of the car during braking will be unstable.

Search of malfunctions algorithm of search of malfunctions
The phenomena described in the following table, are not abnormal and do not testify to malfunction.
Conditions of detection of malfunctions can change depending on diagnostics code.

Check of codes of malfunction
Consider a malfunction code by means of MUT-II or a control lamp of ABS.

Reading by means of a control lamp of ABS
Use the special tool to earth a conclusion (1) (a conclusion of diagnostic management) the diagnostic socket.
Stop the engine.
Turn on the switch of stoplights (press a brake).
After carrying out steps with item 1. according to item 3., include ignition. During 3 спосле ignition inclusions, switch off the switch of stoplights (release a brake). Then, switch on and off the switch of stoplights of only 10 times.

NOTE
If operation of the electronic ABS control unit stopped owing to work of safety function, it will be impossible to erase malfunction codes.

Check of the hydraulic block

ATTENTION
Before connection (or shutdown) the MUT-II device turn the ignition key in the situation "VYKL" ("OFF")

Lift the car a jack and establish under it in specially intended places basic racks or establish checked wheels on drums of the brake stand.

ATTENTION
During test of a surface of a drum of the brake stand and the tire should be dry.

At test of forward brakes put the car on the parking brake, and at test of back brakes block forward wheels.
Release the lever of the parking brake and check effort of resistance to rotation (the resistance moment) on each wheel.
When using the brake stand, write down values of forces of resistance on each wheel. Turn the ignition key in the situation "Vykl" ("OFF") and connect MUT-II.
Having convinced of that the gear shifting lever (cars from a manual transmission) or the selector (cars with AKPP) is in neutral situation, start the engine.
Use MUT-II for drive actuating.

NOTE
During check of a drive the control lamp of ABS will burn, and management of anti-blocking system is disconnected.
If the ABS system was disconnected by safety function, drive check by means of MUT-II cannot be executed.

Turn a wheel hands and check change of effort of braking at the pressed pedal of a brake.
When using the brake stand press a brake pedal until the effort of braking will not reach specified below sizes, and check, whether the effort of braking decreases at inclusion of a drive of the hydraulic block to the sizes measured in item 2.
Forward wheel: 785–981 N.
Back wheel: 588–784 N.
If results of check are unsatisfactory, eliminate the reason according to «Diagnostics table».
After the completion of check turn the ignition key in the situation "Vykl" (OFF) and immediately disconnect MUT-II.

Charge restoration for completely discharged battery room of the battery
If at completely discharged storage battery for start of the engine connection through connecting wires of an external source of a current is used, and the car begins at once movement (without having given the discharged battery of some time for additional charge), interruptions in ignition system that will lead to a stop of the car and impossibility to continue movement can begin.
This phenomenon results from big consumption of a current by ABS system on self-diagnostics. to avoid the similar phenomenon it is necessary, or to give the chance to the battery to be charged at operation of the engine idling, or to disconnect ABS system by removal of a fusible insert from an ABS system chain. The control lamp of ABS thus will light up.
After a sufficient charging of the storage battery muffle the engine, establish into place a fusible insert (ABS chain) and start the engine again. Be thus convinced that the control lamp of ABS does not burn
