7.2.4. Check of adjustable tension

This test is intended for check of a regulator of tension.
Before implementation of this test check the following.
– Generator fastenings.
– Be convinced that the storage battery established on the car, is completely charged.
– Tension of a driving belt.
– Fusible insert.
– Existence of the extraneous noise proceeding from the generator at operation of the engine.
Turn a key of the lock of ignition in the situation "LOCK" it ("is SWITCHED OFF").
Disconnect a negative wire from the storage battery.
By means of a plait of wires for test of the generator (МВ991519) connect the digital voltmeter between a conclusion of "S" of the generator and "mass" of the car (Connect a positive wire of the voltmeter to «S» conclusion, and a negative wire to a point having reliable connection with "weight" or to the negative plug of the storage battery).
Connect the hinged ampermeter of a direct current with a range of measurements 0–120 And to a wire between a conclusion "In" the generator and the storage battery.

ATTENTION
Connection of the ordinary ampermeter in a rupture of a chain is possible in case electric contact between a conclusion "In" the generator and that wire will not be broken.

Connect a negative wire to the storage battery.
Connect a tachometer or the diagnostic MUT-II/III device.
Turn a key of the lock of ignition in the situation "ON" ("IGNITION"). Thus the voltmeter should show tension of the storage battery.

ATTENTION
If the voltmeter shows tension 0 In, break of a connecting wire or a fusible insert between a conclusion of "S" of the generator and the positive plug of the storage battery can be a probable cause of it.

Switch off all devices of lighting and other consumers of an electric current.
Start the engine.
Increase frequency of rotation of the engine to 2500 mines-1.
Write down voltmeter indications during the moment when the current of the generator will appear equal or less than 10 And.
If the measured tension corresponds to the established range, the regulator of tension is serviceable.
If the measured tension does not correspond to the established range, the generator or a tension regulator is faulty.
After check release an accelerator pedal.
Turn a key of the lock of ignition in the situation "LOCK" it ("is SWITCHED OFF").
Disconnect a tachometer or the diagnostic MUT-II/III device.
Disconnect a negative wire from the storage battery.
Disconnect the ampermeter and the voltmeter.
Connect a tokovy wire of the generator to a conclusion "In" the generator.
Disconnect a plait of wires for generator test, connect all electric sockets.
Connect a negative wire to the storage battery.
