7.4.12. Fuel level sensor check

Remove the sensor of the index of level of fuel from a fuel tank.

Resistance of the fuel level sensor
Check compliance of size of resistance between a conclusion of the fuel level sensor and a "weight" conclusion to nominal rate when the float of the sensor is in a point of F (highest) and in point Е (lowest).

Nominal rate of 2 WD
F point: 3 ± 0,6 Ohm.
Point Е: 110 ± 2,5 Ohm.
Nominal rate of 4 WD
F point: 1,5 ± 0,5 Ohm.
Point Е: 55 ± 1,5 Ohm.
Be convinced that the size of resistance changes smoothly at slow moving of a float between a point of F (highest) and point Е (lowest).

Check of a course of a float of the fuel level sensor
Move a float and measure height And in a point of F (highest) and In in point Е (lowest) when the lever of a float concerns the limiter.

Nominal value

Thermoresistor
Connect the fuel level sensor (thermoresistor) to the storage battery through a verifying lamp (12 In – 3,4 W). Ship the sensor in water.
The condition good if a lamp dies away at thermoresistor immersion in water and lights up at its vynimaniye from water.

ATTENTION
After the completion of this check, dry the sensor and establish it in a fuel tank.

Check of the sensor of temperature of cooling liquid of the engine
Merge cooling liquid.
Remove the sensor of temperature of cooling liquid.
Ship the sensor in water with temperature of 70 °C and measure resistance.
Nominal rate: 104 ± 13,5 Ohm.
After check, put the specified hermetic round a carving of the sensor of temperature of cooling liquid.
Hermetic name: ZM Adhesive Nut Locking No. 4171 or analog.
Add cooling liquid.
